   Click "start", then "control panel", then "security center", then click "windows firewall". from here you will see if it’s ON or OFF.

   Go to Start – Control Panel and look for Windows Firewall. double click the icon and it should give you an option to turn it on.
   Hope that helps

   If the Windows Firewall service is not running type services.msc into your Run Box. Scroll down and set Windows Firewall to "automatic" and then "Start" the service.
   You will need to right-click on Windows Firewall then clickProperties (in services.msc) todo this.
