I do little things. Disk Checks, get rid of old files, defragment. After doing all that the pc runs good for a few times and then slows down again. What can i do more. Get a registry cleaner, but will that improve the performance

To answer your questions with registry cleaners; unfortunately, it’s a case of yes or no. Yes if you trust the source and what your doing. No, if… well, if you don’t know what it’s going to do.
Often you’ll find these so called "registry" cleaners will in fact harbour nasty files that are there to infect your files or share your files with prying eyes.
For a quick fix if you computers a bit on the old side, you’ll find buying more RAM will make a world of difference. What’s more, it’s fairly cheap.
If you don’t feel too confident about fiddling around inside your computer to place in the RAM you could always re-install windows. This will give your computer a clean slate to work with. But, be warned, don’t do this unless your absolutely sure that you have all the original CD’s & disks that came with your computer and for any other device.
To get started, just back-up any of your important files to an external device then run through your Windows CD again.
If you don’t have a CD or DVD burner, try investing in an external hard drive that suits your needs http://www.pricespy.co.nz/cat_3.html
Additionally, there are some wonderful services out there that you can store and even share some files online.

Obviously, with less you have in your main drive, the less your computer needs to read through to get to what it needs.
download ccleaner. and use this application on all users.
use avast antivirus. better than the rest.
defragment your disk. so your files wont load long.
find a registry cleaner. its too stuffed.
uninstall useless software. useless software is useless.
delete unecessary files. just do it.
donwload autoruns. google it.
clean the inside of your pc. it may be dusty.
its possible u have 2 many programs running
you wanna know the best way !!! ?? i can talk you through step by step on how to do it , but that would just be wasting time , there is a programme called Ccleaner , it is brilliant , you click the box on what you want removed , cookies , temp files , recycle in etc etc etc and it gets rid of it all , also , to help speed up your comp , you can de- fragment your comp , and also clear the disk space for it , that is found in the accesories list , and system tools 😀 , good luck
type in cookies and delete them
…or…
go to control panel and add or remove rograms
…or…
go to perfomance and maintanence in your control panel
Avoid registry cleaners, bad bad bad.
1) Start with Add/Remove programs in the control panel, remove any applications you do not use.
2) Remove items from your Windows Start-up, applications like Adobe Reader seem to think they deserve to be there… get rid!
3) Reduce the items in your Windows System Tray (Bottom right hand of your screen) each one of those items is a drain on your resources.
4) Empty your Internet Cache and reduce the size of it, along with the history, they add to the size of your Windows Profile (bigger the profile, longer it takes to load)
5) If you have two disks in your puter, or a drive partition move your page file to a different partition, set it to 3 times the amount of RAM in your puter.
That should be a good start for you.. O’ and if you have McAffee of Norton, replace it with CA’s eTrust! 🙂
