It really helped me..
The clicking noise is a """WARNING""" Save all of you data NOW and get a replacement Hard Drive.
You HD is FAILING and It WILL FAIL HARD SOON!! "RIP"
If it does fail and you do have a replacement I hear that sticking the drive in the freezer MAY allow you some time on transfering the data to the new one.
I’ll recommend you to back up all our important data to dvd’s, external hard drive or any other back up source.
You may not want to lost your valuable data.
and get a new hard drive to replace the one with the problem, which could have been caused by power break ups, or by suddenly powering off the computer from the switch.
See you in the next life…
Hey macman3, we may be twin brothers jajaj, we are so alike jajja.
Make sure if it is the hard drive. Open the box and listen to the hard drive while booting. If it is clicking it could mean bad sectors or the head is failing. If you have serious software and data you don’t want to lose, I suggest backing it up asap, as you might find that your pc suddenly do not pick-up the hard drive one day. (Head crash).
If not, a good OS reload will suffice. I also suggest trying a program called Panda Internet Security, as I am IT I have tested a lot of different software on the market. Mcafee, Norton, Bitdefender, AVG, pc-cillin, sophos, kaspersky, f-prot and trend micro, only naming a few.
Panda was by far the best. It has a malware, virus/worm, spyware and spam security which is extremely effective.
See ya.
If you can clearly hear a clicking noise, better to open up your system and check whether it is coming from the hard disk. If this is the case, the back up your data to another hard disk as soon as possible. If this is not the problem then trying reinstalling the OS.
Go to manufacturers web site and download diagnostic software. Becareful not to do a destructive hard drive erase.
what OS are you running ???
@ command prompt type
chkdsk /fix
or right click on the drive in Question….and have it check the drive that way @ boot up !!! click on repair check box too !!!
🙂
errr maybe check your log files aswell…..tis what they are there for lol
🙂
Clicking noise is a symptom of a failing hard drive.Slow to load applications is another indication of a hard drive dying out.
Backup your hard drive or your valued files as soon as possible before it is too late. Replacement of the hard drive is just around the corner.
