increase its RAM memory. speed will increase and refresh windows as well
most of the time is because u have too much stuff in ur computer’s memory (its different from the hard drive). try deleting some stuff or use an external hard drive to save them out of the computer. space is Essential for ur computer to move faster.
One thing I did was clear all my cookies. Just pop up Internet Explorer go to Tools Internet options go to browsing history settings and then go to view files. Delete everything in the folder. Hope that helps. If it doesn’t, be prepared to spend money. I’d suggest getting some more ram maybe? Awesome site for computer ware is Newegg. And it’s pretty safe. If you know someone who knows about computers go to them first before going to someone you have to pay for, If none of the above works… I’d suggest a new computer.

I wouldn’t advise buying gateway again.
Buy a computer for 2000 dollars instead of 300 dollars. You will see a difference. I don’t know, email me your specs and I’ll tell you what to replace or what sucks in general.
The answer ultimately depends on the processor/memory your gateway PC has however the best method is to start by removing unwanted malware/spyware as this will speed up your pc a god amount.

If this does not meet your needs you may wish to look into purchasing additional RAM or upgrading the CPU. This ultimately depends on price though as some older computers are not worth upgrading for the price of newer desktops.
