Compressed air the circuit boards and fans etc. Careful not to tip the can too far or you will spray liquid ice all over. I use Q-tips on the fans with a little rubbing alcohol. I also use a vacuum, BUT like the other guy said it can harm the computer. What i do is tip the pc a little and blow off the dust. The stuff that falls to the side opposite the mother board i vacuum out. I make extra sure I don’t come any where near the circuit boards. If you are uncertain about it then don’t even attempt it. Just pinch out that dust with your fingers. They do make a vacuum that is completly safe to use on you pc but it costs about $15,000. I used to use one when I worked around explosives. They have RF filter in them and the tube is grounded out somehow.
um well, i dont really think youll need to take apart the computer, just take off the lid and used a can of compressed air. try and stay away from cloths as they only push the dust into more difficult spots.
spray it on a 30 degree angle from the comonents.
rather than taking all the comonents out, you should just remove the cpu fana nd another other fans, give thema clean, as when they restart they will collect any other dust in your computer
The best way to do this is unplug it, take it out to the garage, take everything out (make a note of which slot it was in and all the connections if you have to), and use one of those air cans on everything. Put it back together and you’re done.
Get a can of compressed air, take it outside or into a garage, and blow the dust out of it. You may be tempted to use a vacuum cleaner but don’t! The air rushing though the plastic tube on the vacuum cleaner makes a static charge and if you get the sweeper hose too close to the computers motherboard, a static shock could arc over to it, destroying components on the board.
