Hi!
You need not worry about this anymore. Here is the solution:
1) If you want to remove temporary Internet files which occupy necessary space in your hard disk:
Open Run command and type %temp% and click OK. The temp files window is opened. Select all by using CTRL+A and delete them.
2) If you are suspecting any virus or spy ware then install Avast Antivirus (trial version is available on the net) and schedule for a boot scan.
3) To clean up unwanted files you can also choose to download CCcleaner from the net and use it.
I often prefer to use the above three methods to give my system a clean look and feel.
Hope my answer would help you out.
You might just do a spyware scan, virus scan, registry scan & defregment your harddrive.
Here’s a link with instructions to do some of these things: http://www.microsoft.com/athome/moredone/optimize.mspx
Keep up with the updates on these programs every few days. It’s not hard, usually it’s just a matter of hitting UPDATE.
If you want to start all over just do a system restore. Keep in mind however, this will erase all your programs, files & settings.

ummmm…find a virus cleaner and start doing disk clean up and disk defragment.
true but nothing is trully ever erased from your computer anyone who knows a thing or two in the feild can still retrieve your unwanted things.
I use "Advanced windows care", and spybot search and destroy for spyware. also, AVG free for anti virus care. go to http://www.cnet.com/downloads and type the names in.
Right click any files you want gone (not JUST from your desktop though since deleting things off your desktop will only delete the shortcut off) by doing to your computer’s documents, etc.
Just select delete and go to your desktop and click on Recycle Bin.
Empty your recycle bin and everything should be off for good.

use a broom or cloth
You can reboot it. Meaning, installing Windows XP or whatever you have, all over again. Usually by using the CD that came with your computer, or going somewhere where they can do it for you, like a computer shop.
Good luck.:)
delete your files
Then do a system recovery. It reinstalls windows to factory specs.
wow.. these answers…
So you want it like it was when you got it?
Back up all your documents, emails, favourites, etc onto external dvd/cd/usb etc
Get your OS cd, and boot the machine with it in
It will offer to format your hard disk – do this, but understand that it will take everything off the computer
reinstall the os
Bingo – machine like new.
you can follow all of the misguided advice above about cleaning it up. You can do this a million different ways, but at the end of the day the only way to get it "like new" is a fresh install.
