My computer has been acting weird lately, freezing up and missing the little icons in the bottom right of the screen that usually pop up right away (msn messenger icon, weatherbug, avg anti virus…etc.) I tried to do a system restore and everytime i try it says incomplete restore. what other things can i try to make my computer work better (faster, not freeze, etc.)

3 ways to try
1) boot in safe mode hen right click C:\ drive go o properties then tools.
error check tick box to fix errors and reboot
2)Find a program to clean up all un-necessary files and clean out
internet explorer cache.
3) then stop all programs from running at start up.
go to run and type in "msconfig" enter.
go to start up and untick all programs except for anti-virus and firewall
Ok here comes my wonderful expertese lol:
#1: Start a stystem defrag… you can use windows or download a program from cnet… up to u
#2 Download a program call CCleaner from cnet’s download page http://www.cnet.com/downloads . After you have it installed just fire it up and check all those checkboxes on the left side on both tabs. Then hit scan. After it scans hit clean. After this go to regestry and click scan. Then hit clean and it will ask you to save it HIT YES (Save it whereever you want).
#3 Using the same program click tools and go down to start-up…
HIT DISABLE ON THESE GUYS!!!:
Anything that says:
iTunes
Quicktime
Word
Windows (Dont worry disabling any of these guys wont hurt your computer)
Shockwave Updater
ANY MESSANGER (you can start those up later)
And anything else you dont want running…
#4 Scan to make sure you dont have any bugs… Go AVG AND Spyware doctor (Just make sure it doesnt start up either).
After this you can download a firewall (Zonealarm is my fav) from cnet
DONT TRUST ANY DOWNLOAD SITE OTHER THAN CNET MOST ARE PHONIES WITH VIRUSES AND OTHER MALWARE!!!!
And oh ya make sure you have at least 20% of your hard dirve space availiable!
