   ccleaner has a registry cleaner option that cleans up old registry files
   it’s free, two others i would recommend is registry mechanic, and regcure

   Most PC professional recommend that people not attempt to clean their registries. It has a moderate risk and there is no measurable benefit.

   If you do decide to do it, make sure you understand how to reverse any changes the tool made. Keep the backup so that you can undo the changes for at least a week. Make sure your system reboots and all key applications work before you discard the backup. If any applications broke that you can’t fix or if you don’t want to revert the cleanup, you can uninstall and then reinstall them.
