tech_to_go is correct.
bootdisk can be gotten from here: http://bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm
detailed instructions on what he said:
http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/hermanzone/p18.htm#Windows_98_Floppy_Disk_Method
Edit: if no floppy disk drive than you can create a boot CD to do it. but since it sounds like you’re still able to boot into Windows see what he says about MbrFix.exe a little more down on the link I gave above.
_
go to the link below and dowload the first two, read them and that should tell you all you need to know about your problem and your bios settings.hope it helps
ok first off GRUB is a linux bootloader. if you have a floppy drive in your computer and can get your hands on an old 98 boot disk, you need to.
Enter the bios and make sure it boots from floppy as first option, then boot from floppy, run fdisk/mbr and then remove the floppy and away you go reboot the computer
Sound like maybe your cd-rom is bad. Primary hard disk drive 1 is where the cd-rom would normally be found.
