I had those problems for a while and CTMixer wouldnt work for me…. i had windows parite 32 virus on my computer…

-ctaud2k.sys is located in the folder C:\Windows\System32\drivers. Known file sizes on Windows XP are 366160 bytes (25% of all occurrence), 837548 bytes, 496800 bytes, 439296 bytes, 366384 bytes, 498688 bytes, 439424 bytes, 374000 bytes.
The driver can be started or stopped from Services in the Control Panel or by other programs. The program is not visible. The service has no detailed description. It is not a Windows system file. It is a trustworthy file from Microsoft.
–Some malware camouflage themselves as ctaud2k.sys, particularly if they are located in c:\windows or c:\windows\system32 folder. Thus check the ctaud2k.sys process on your pc whether it is pest.
—cthelper.exe is installed with Creative Labs Soundblaster Devices. It’s purpose is to aid 3rd party developers create plugins/software for the card. In this way it is a non-essential system process and can be removed from the task-bar/startup.
—-Any malware can be named anything – so you should check where the files of the running processes are located on your disk. If a "non-Microsoft" .exe file is located in the C:\Windows or C:\Windows\System32 folder, then there is a high risk for a virus, spyware, trojan or worm infection!
