   Usually, if you have too many files or programs on your computer it will slow it down. Do you have any files or programs you are not using or don’t need? If so, I would delete them. You can also increase your memory so you will have more room for storage; and you can increase your RAM (Random Access Memory).

   theres no way to make a computer faster unless u get a new cpu, but to do that u need a new motherboard so you need to buy a new motherboard and CPU

   You did not say which version of Windows you are running, but I am guessing it is XP.

   226MB is barely enough to run WIndows XP. The easiest and cheapest fix is to add more memory.
   Upgrade to at least 512MB; 1024MB would not be too much. You will be pleasantly suprised at the difference it makes.
