Are you using Windows XP? What is the name of your laptop? If it is a Dell, I may be able to help you, I had the same problem. Clk on your network, clk view wireless networks on the bottom, clk change order of advanced networks on the left(nxt to gold star),next window go to top&clk wireless networks, clk -Use windows configure my wireless network settings. Enter your network name(exactly) in the box below and clk on it. clk OK this will let windows connect to your wireless router. Let me know if this works for you.
the connection you are looking at with a good signal is between the laptop and the router, not the laptop and the internet. Belkin have an excellent troubleshooting page here:
http://kbserver.netgear.com/kb_web_files/n101209.asp
start – connect to – show all connections- view avialable wireles networks-click on the one u are using – change advanved settings- wirelessnetworks tab- then click the box – use windows to configure my wireless network settings- then apply
I can totaloly relate. try clicking the reconnect button over and over. If that fails it might be because another wireless thing is near you and it doesn’t know what to connect to. That’s what happened to mine.
Check you have the updated drivers, check you have entered any passwords you have on your network into the laptop, restart the laptop, the transmitter/router.
If none of that works then it may be a problem with the hardware in the laptop in which case you would have to complain to the repair company
I had the same problem. Go to your Network Connections, right click on the wireless you are connected to, select Properties. Select the Wireless Network tab and remove any networks showing in the Preferred networks box that are not yours. Then select your network (only one remaining) and go to properties and verify your WEP key (reenter). Click OK and restart your browser. That is what I did and I am flying full speed with total access!
