Clean Registry and Optimize PC
There is no reason to remove any files before installing Leopard unless you get a message from the installer that there is not enough room to install. If that happens, burn some movies, music and other large documents to CDs or DVD and delete them from the MacBook drive. Don’t delete anything in Library or System. You may need those files to keep Tiger up and running if you have a problem installing Leopard.
If you have an external HD you should move all of your media/documents/programs to it (and other stuff u want) and then install it. Then you can move the files back.
