insert the CD in ur CD ROM and restart the PC. At the initial stage follow the instructions. Before u format the hard drive make sure u have the following thing handy.

2. U have backed up all your important files.
insert the WinXp cd into your drive
restart and boot from cd
to boot from cd change boot device priority in your bios settings
the setup will start.
you have to for few minutes until it loads the necessary driver and files.
on the next screen choose fresh installation of windows
it will ask you on which drive you wanna install
select the required drive and Press D to delete the partition.
setup will ask for your confirmation to delete the partition Press L
on the next screen Press C to create a new partition and Press enter twice.
on the next screen choose the file system you want to format with.
FAT is old ,NTFS is a better choice.
