its not bad at all to have more than one antivirus. especially since spybot is for malware and ad-ware is for ad and spyware and microsoft security essentials (actually pretty cruddy) but norton is not what i would recommend. i would not even recommend buying an antivirus. I torrented to fully registered Antiviruses with utorrent including Malwarebytes’ and !avast. !avast is THE BEST protection software to have. its proven. but if you already bought norton, keep it. keep those other programs too. you can never be too sure.
You should take the norton back for a refund
Having more than one anti-virus is bad, and you should know that Norton doesn’t do a very good job. While you have that anti-virus on your computer I’d suggest getting ESET NOD32 Anti-virus (you can get it online). This anti-virus does its job very well and is an out-of-your-face anti-virus, it does its job and doesn’t bother you as much. With this I also added Rkill and Malwarebytes Anti-malware (this got rid of any spy or malware on my computer).
If anything does go wrong I’d visit these sites before spending big bucks on getting your computer fixed: bleepingcomputer.com and majorgeeks.com the rkill and malwarebytes is safe to download from there. For added protectioin you can also get the free version of McAfee site advisor (it has a green check mark or a red X for safe and unsafe sites before you click on them). If that isn’t an interest you can always check a website’s safety from: webutation.net. Get all the protection you need BEFORE you get infected with a virus.
