Registry Clean32 advertises itself through the Windows messenger service. These messenger service pop-ups inform the user that their registry needs to be repaired, even if it does not.
So the answer is no you don’t need this. Remove windows messenger service from your computer.
As mentioned, this is malware, ad-ware, spy-ware, Trojan, or a reg-hack created by a website, activex download, or pop-up you accepted or clicked on. They can be very tough to remove because they often create registry entries that recreate the installation files/folders/boot files/registry entries every time you reboot your system or restart windows. If you registered your McAfee Software, you have access to their on-line support scanners and removal tools. They also have specific fixes for your problem. Just go into the firewall events window, run a trace on that address or event then submit to McAfee and they will provide you with support and links to resolve your problem. You can also go directly to your McAfee Web Login and use their free scan and detection tools. Be sure to visit the McAfee Threat Center and bookmark it for future use, it has tons of stuff to assist your problem. Here is the URL: http://vil.nai.com/vil/default.aspx
This is a virus (a specific type known as adware). You need to install an antivirus product and run a system scan. You probably connected to the interweb without one installed – big no-no. Download one from Norton or McAfee.
Also try install Spybot Search & Destroy and/or Adaware to get rid of the spyware and adware.
Actually I upgraded from ME to XP a couple of months ago and had the same sort of thing happen. The problem seems to stem from some of your previously installed programs not working with XP. If the warning is from Microsoft, I’d follow its instructions. I had to get new versions of programs like Kodak Easyshare, for example.
congratz, u just install crap. its a spyware. is just annoing
did u install xp, xp sp1, xp sp2?
run the windows update
it looks like a spy ware. get a virus and spybot search and destry
"The Doctor" above is correct.
This is known as windows messenger spam.
Unless you have a legitimate need to have this service running, (ie frequent use of tools like Net Send, etc., ) you are going to want to disable windows messenger service.
Start
Control Panel
Performance & Maintenance
Administrative Tools
Services
Right Click on Messenger and choose properties
Change start-up type to "Disabled"
Click Apply
(this is different than MSN messenger, and has nothing to do with IM functions)
Your firewall should be blocking the windows messenger ports (137-139) unless you are relying on ICF (the built in windows XP firewall) or have specifically unblocked these ports. If you are only using the ICF, firewall I would certainly replace it. There are many freeware alternatives available, try ZoneAlarm http://www.snapfiles.com/reviews/zoneala…
as having the ports opened not only will allow messenger spamming , but provide access to any number of other well-known exploits, including the W32 Blaster worm and variants. Whatever you do, Do not visit their website, as the "registry cleaner" proffered is either;
1 an attempt to sell you useless crap
2 A malicious program that will install spy/malware
3 Both
This should defiantly solve your issues.
