you need to run msconfig
start -> run -> msconfig
check any removals you make against this list

before you start set a system restore point.
Its not rocket science. You can do a google search if you want more information but these two tools are all you need to do it properly.
If you get stuck, or there is any problem, you can revert through safe mode and msconfig or through the system restore point you have set.
what i use is counterspyware. i just got it free from http://www.superantispyware.com. it helps me clean all unwanted programs, trojans, adwares, etc.
the guy on top has suggested the right thing to do. Just in case you’re still confused, here’s the step-by-step instruction:
>click START button (on the taskbar)
>go to SETTINGS
>CONTROL PANEL
>choose the ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS icon
>select/highlight the programs you want to remove
>then, click CHANGE OR REMOVE button
>then, the program that you want to remove will be uninstalled.
Well, that would probably be it. Hope this helps.
If ever there’s a virus detected after un-installation or something weird happens, try scanning your computer because sometimes, when i uninstall some programs, there are some errors. So, try to be cautious and I suggest you try these programs (if you haven’t tried them yet):
>Spybot Search & Destroy
(a program that detects and removes spyware and adware of different kinds from computers.)
>RegistryMechanic
(Don’t compromise your PC with the second best. Registry Mechanic will clean your registry, fix errors and optimize PC for better performance.)

Registry Cleaner-if you haven’t cleaned your registry in a while. This is necessary. Your registry holds all the information regarding updates, installs, un-installs etc. Each one of those events produces a key. That key needs your PC’s resources and free space. So, if you clean your registry, you make more resources available for speed. Do a registry scan if you got more than 20 errors you should clean it.
