Clean Registry and Optimize PC
Go to MSconfig under Start –> Run. Follow the tabs to Services and Startup. I reccomend to DISABLE ALL ITEMS UNDER STARTUP. Then reboot your system and do a scan.
Otherwise, slave the drive up to another machine and scan it as a slave.

Why not just download a free version of one of many anti-virus available on the net? update it & do a full scan of your system.
If you have a specific virus go to one of the well know anti-virus company websites & do a search for tools to remove that specific virus.
Are you running your computer online without a good a/v?
do u have att yahoo dsl or something like that or maybe sbc/ then u can get the online protection from ur account page. if u dont then go to avast.com and get the free for home use antiirus which is also very good
