I’m sure it’s missing the driver. I D/L’d all system drivers for XP and think they’re reinstalled right. But still get no sound. I’ve done this before and it all worked?? Help.

When I got my dell latitude d630 the sound was messed up also, you need to go to dell.com and install a sound driver. For me it was some Sigmatel audio driver, I’m sure dell will have you list you computer info to find the right one.
Check in device manager,, it all drivers are there,, then go to your sounds and audio program… configure it.
Windows XP and missing drivers.
When you do a clean install, it doesn’t reinstall things that were installed manually. It only installs what’s on the disk. Go to your computers manufacturers website, search for your computer, and under Window XP look for audio drivers. If there is none, then you have to find it on your own somewhere else online.
