   Run Windows Update and it will detect your video chip, and install drivers for it.

   Did you even think to go to Nvidia’s website, download the driver, then install the driver?

   You need to pick the correct driver for your OS.

   They make them in different flavors…like XP 32 bit, XP 64 bit, Win 7/Vista 32 bit and Win 7/Vista 64 bit.

   Download the correct one, uninstall the drivers that are there now for the graphics card. Restart. Install new drivers. Restart.

   You should be fine now.

   Windows Update doesn’t always detect the proper hardware…it’s sometimes a crap shoot and you may or may not always get the right driver for the hardware.

   EDIT:

   That doesn’t make sense…if there’s an error during download, it wouldn’t say:

   "This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware"

   You’re doing something wrong somewhere in those steps…sounds like you’re trying to install the wrong drivers.

   Make sure you know which version of Windows you are installing for, whether 32 or 64 bit. To make sure, open up System Properties by holding down the Windows Key and tap the Pause/Break key.

   Here is the Win 7 32-bit driver for your card:

   Save the file on your desktop. Once it finishes downloading, then repeat those steps I told you earlier.

   EDIT:

   If you own a Dell Inspiron 1420, Dell XPS M1330, Dell XPS M1530, or Dell Latitude D630/D630c it is highly recommended that you first install this Dell software update.
