Clean Registry and Optimize PC
I will suggess you install a fresh copy after formating old window xp professional. Otherwise it will give you some errors later on regarding automatic downloading and upgradations i think. So if you know how to format and reinstall fresh copy, go for it otherwise there is another answer in this discussion telling you how to install a fresh copy.

use a valid copy of windows and do a clean install put the disk in the drive restart the computer and you will be prompted to press any key to boot from cd then press any key choose clean install and from there you can choose to creat a partition delete a partition what ever you want to do
