If its reformating follow these instructions, it isnt as hard as people make it out to be and if you do mess up you can start over or take it to a shop.
1.before you go on to reformatting make sure you have the following
A widows licence key
A windows disk thats the same as your licence, Not an upgrade disk! (except if you have vista, if you have vista then you can you any VISTA disk)
A non-usb keyboard
A non-usb mouse (not entirely necessary but maybe useful)
Please note this is for xp/vista I’ve never reformatted anything below.
2.turn on your pc and insert the windows disk.
go on to step 4 if your computer does not starts to load windows.
3.turn the computer off and on by holding the power button down or pressing the reset switch if you have one.
4.boot from cd. If it does not do it by itself go back to step 3 but this time look at the computer screen and on it for a few seconds should be your computers make and also "press <f11> to open boot selection" or something along those lines. Keep pressing that key until it says "press any key to boot from cd".
5. once you’ve booted from cd it should says "please wait whilst windows enters setup".
6.wait.
7.Set up your language preferences and click Next.
8. Click Install Now to start the installation.
9. Type in your product key number
10.Leave the Automatically activate Windows when I’m online box unchecked. (not necessary)
11. Click on Next.
12. Check I accept the license terms box and click Next.
13.Click on Custom (advanced).
14.Select the hard drive you want to install Vista on and click Drive Options (advanced).
15.Click Format to format the hard drive.
16. repeat step 5 for as many hard drives as you have
17.select the hard drive you want vista on an click next.
18.it should come up with
"Copying windows files (0%)
Expanding files
Installing features
Installing updates
Completing installation"
19. then after installing updates is done it will restart and do completing installation.
20.after that it will come up with set up windows simply follow the on screen instructions.
Please before you do this double check you have everything before attempting this.
If you need any more help email me.
In order to wipe out everything, you will need the recovery disc or the O/S CD (operating system disc) . Just insert it and boot from it, then it will prompt you to " press any key to boot from CD", do it. And in the process you will be prompt to format the hard drive, this portion will wipe out everything on your computer, then after formatting ie thr installation of the O/S. Just follow the procedure and you’ll be fine !
If you have windows CD mount it, then restart your computer if it asks you to run from CD pres any key (do this) if not restart again and find bios menu
In my PC then computer is booting i have to pres DELETE
Then you are in menu find Booting priority or smth.. then change hard disk to CD-rom or DVD-rom
Save and Exit (computer should automaticaly restart)
then it asks you to run from CD pres any key (do this)
Windows instal should start after some file copying and setups you will be promoted to format partitions
Format all partitions you want you may delete and create new
(partition its C: D: disc)
Continue setup on partition C thats all..
Darriks Bute + Nuke (See Link Below)
1) burn the ISO or file to the disc
2) Save everything you want off the computer
3) Turn off computer
4) Turn on computer and make computer boot from disc
5) Start Darik’s Boot and Nuke
6) Voila
Caution
IT WILL DELETE EVERYTHING. THERE IS NO BACK OPTION. SAVE EVERYTHING YOU WANT!
go to accessories ….system tools ……system restore.
tht should work
