If that didn’t work
1. Go into X (Ubuntu) and run xvid tun WARNING!!! BE CAREFUL!!!

You can also try . . .
1. Go inti X (Ubuntu) and ajust your monitor till looks good
If your still here
1. Go onto internet and look for a windows boot disk and try to use that
to get into fake windows
2. Try to load disk and follel instructions
Well . . . umm . . . that all i got
Hoped i helped =`(
Before you abandon Linux, you should have realized there were going to be problems, instead of troubleshooting what sounds like a simple bad boot order, let’s try this monitor thing instead.
Describe the problem for me, in additional details and I’ll edit this accordingly.
A quick guess sounds to me like you’re not using VESA drivers, which work almost universally with all VGA cards. Try doing a xorg.conf configuration with xorgconf at the login terminal.
You can access one by whenever you get to the login terminal at Ubuntu, hit CTRL + ALT + BACKSPACE and it should kill X, and if I’m not mistaken, you can access a terminal. If that doesn’t work, try to log in to your account, and once you’re logged in, then kill X and run xorg.conf, and tell it to use VESA drivers, and set the resolution to something simple like 1024×768.
Get the recovery or system restore cd and have that boot up to your computer. Chances are that cd you are trying to use is not a boot-able one (like an windows upgrade cd is not a boot-able cd). You might have to contact your computer manufacturer to get the system restore cd but it will cost some money.
BTW the monitor problem, you could ask around in the ubuntu forum to see if they know a solution. Ubuntu has always had a problem with using the bleeding edge in technology. You might have to look in the add/remove section to see if you can look up your graphic card model to see if it has the driver in there for it to work properly.
