I’ve found when a power supply goes, it goes. no intermittent bs about it. how old is the mother board? are the capasators bulging over or leaking? it could very well be that. have you tried formatting? If you format and still have the same problem, you might want to look into another motherboard. Do you hear any noises from the computer? like someone’s wacking a pencil around in there, that would be a bad hard drive. If it is a heat issue where when it only does it after like 5-10 minutes of running, you might need to reseat your heat sink. open the case and make sure the fan is running on the prossessor. that’s about the best I can do without it infornt of me. Sounds like you have the right idea. Try to use another supply , eg 60 watt from another unit and see results. I had the same problem and I also got ‘pixilated’ screen. (distorted)
