Not really. It depends on how much you want to work. If you just focus on virus and spyware removal, then you won’t be getting too much business. I’ve been running a repair business for 7 years and it has it’s ups and downs. Although viruses and spyware has picked back up recently, there was a year and a half where there wasn’t many calls regarding viruses.
There are now ways of stopping your computers from being infected.

Most of the small businesses that I see doing this kind of thing also sell computer accessories and parts as well. You may be able to start up a business from home doing this type of thing, building up clients from friends and family and having it branch out from word of mouth eventually getting to the point where you can advertise and open a shop. That is if you are financially stable enough to let this take some time time build up.
Certainly! Of course you are "Specializing" but there is certainly a need for such services. Plan out what services you can do and start by "word of mouth" you would be suppised how fast it would get around! Look for small businesses you could offer your services to. The biggest part of starting any new business is getting your name out there! Be ready to do a lot of "leg work" at first…when they know your there..they will come running to you! even just a simple business card droped off at a store or office can be a big help. You might want to add a "dusting & cleaning" service that you clean computers (by contract at the customers business location) every 6 months or so. It can help you get through the "lean times".
Good luck!
