I've read quite a few articles on registry cleaners and some say they are safe but others say the opposite.
So are registry cleaners really safe?
Thanks guys.

Not safe. I don't recommend it.
They are safe if you know what you are deleting. Sometimes registry cleaners will highlight legitimate files or data keys and if you don't know what they are, you could be deleting something essential to your registry. I would read up on each key before deleting. Just my advice.
The only one I trust is ccleaner.exe. It has NEVER caused a problem, but it offers to save the registry before cleaning up. Always use this, there is always that one time something will go wrong, like a power failure in the middle of a clean.
It depends. Some have advanced modes that may not be as safe to use unless you know what you are doing. I believe I have messed my computer up once or twice by using the advanced mode. Always backup your registry so than it can be restored.
ccleaner is safe, it prompts to make a back up. What could go wrong?
Nope.. you'll end up with even more problems…
not safe
I have used them before with no problems.
it all depends on what cleaner you use. you do want a clean registry so you want to make sure ou have one that does work. Ccleaner does work. you can do a google search for it.
some will mess up your computer every time.
their is always a chance that it could mess something up… i never do it but its not a bad idea to make a backup of the registry when the program asks you.
