i want to clean the registry but iam not sure and afraid it may delete window and other installed software components..What does it clean..Is it safe to run it.

I would have kept CCleaner on my computer but McAfee Quick Clean Is included in My Security Center Suite. i have found this program really good. It also cleans index.dat files, and it gives you an option to back up the regestry before cleaning it. ( It is perfectly safe, but download from trusted sites, download.com)
Yes it is safe to run, I use it all the time. As far as a registry cleaner CCleaner is about the safest one you will find because it is not as intensive of a scanner compared to others.
Ccleaner is a very good program it does not delete windows components or other installed software its completely harmless.I’ve used it on two pcs and it works great it cleans out temorary files and old registry data that is no longer needed it is a must to speed up your pc hope this helps.
It’s perfectly safe. I suggest you use the Help Section of the program to guide you. The Help Section will explain everything you need to know about using the program PROPERLY which IS important.
In the mean time just use the Default Settings and you’ll be just fine!
EDIT: Personally, I use TweakNow RegCleaner. It’s simple to use and perfectly safe!!! It’s the SAFEST one I’ve yet to use so far!
