No AV package is ever 100% accurate – your best protection is yourself and your common sense. If anything looks not quite right – don’t download it. If you’re not 100% confident in something scan it with several different scanners.
Before you download anything – look at it – file sizes if it doesn’t seem right then don’t touch it ie songs <1mb when they’re typically ~5mb+ etc and ALWAYS ensure the file type is correct. If something needs something else to run it and you’ve already installed a codec pack – chances are it’s dodgy i wouldn’t trust it.
Afaik Kaspersky AV doesn’t have a firewall built in to it – but kaspersky internet security does.
Doing regular scans helps a lot but there is never a way to be 100% sure if a file is safe or not – using a combination of common sense and an av package is the best way to protect yourself but even the most experienced users make mistakes sometimes :).
u would only get a virus if u don’t know what ur doing.don’t download music files that are smaller than 1mb and never download the documents, pics, software, and watch out with videos.i suggest u don’t download videos cuz the quality is crap and u can get better on the web. music is safe and people who got viruses from the music are idiots cuz they have no clue what they are doing. and the cops are not gonna arrest you cuz they have more serious stuff to worry about. so just watch what u download dude and ur safe
yes it safe as long you don’t download videos.
You can and should use the Windows Firewall but that won’t protect against a virus. As long as your virus scan has a live protection (Kapersky does) and it is turned on then you should be safe from a virus. However, you are still at risk for spyware and worse malware. There are several good programs (that are free) that you can scan with (Malwarebytes’ is a great one). Here is what I would do:
Don’t set the program to start on PC start up.
Use the program for what you need (DONT SHARE).
Close the program (make sure it is closed in Task Manager as well).
Run the anti-spy/malware program.
limewire is crap. use bittorent and look up torrents online because you get the entire album at once, along with all the artwork and stuff. its a lot more organized too. i hate limewire, i used it for years before i switched over.
Not really even with the best virus protection you will still get viruses with Limewire.
No, of course not. No antivirus is 100% effective. It’s like getting a flu shot and then going out and injecting yourself with H1N1. Why would you do that? And Limewire is illegal for what you want to use it for anyway, so it’s not safe in that regard either.
I would worry more about the RIAA coming to sue you for pirated music then malware in getting into your system.
no limewire is never safe, use frostwire, no viruses at all period, and it has a chatroom. also its free and takes up much less memory 😉
