I dont buy that.
Vista’s got to be inherently slower than XP.
My XP reboot is very fast and is the same as the vista one which actually has more memory.
if you are using the same working condition and will migrate to vista, you will get a slower unit.if you want your unit to go faster try to reinstall a new/fresh xp.
I cant tell you about vista as it still has teething problems, but windows xp3 is fast enough for me on adsl2 (australia), and anyone can load a security programme so you dont have to worry about viruses and mine boots up quite quickly, so long as you have the latest internet explorer and flash players etc., it will load just as fast, it also does updates whenever needed by itself, what can slow your computer down is not deleting browsing history and cookies etc., plus you should disc clean and defrag frequently, I do mine everyday and once a week do a full computer scan for any viruses or malaware etc., its through F-Secure and its stopped many attacked on my computer so I suppose it all depends on your connection speed and if you have up to date programs like IE8 etc., they are free to download so check the site out, hope this helps, goodluck! 🙂
the only good thing about vista is the graphics, makes it run faster and it uses more of the ram(not all ram is used)
other then that its just a downgrade
windows xp with vistavg (vistagraphics) is the best deal
i think vista uses a better algorithm in handling and opening files. please wait for the next upcoming windows version which is windows 7, they say it is much, much faster than vista and xp.
