that popups are most likely adware trying to persuade you to buy a bogus program loaded with another adware. This is common in adware bussiness, the program would then found a problem in the system than said to remove it, but the problem would persist.
Try downloading, installing, UPDATING, scanning with these softwares:
– Ad-aware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/ )
– Ewido (http://www.ewido.com/ )
– Windows Defender (http://www.download.com/Microsoft-Windows-Defender/3000-8022_4-10353597.html?tag=hed )
– AVG (http://free.grisoft.com/ ) {you may want to uninstall your current antivirus to avoid conflict}
Note: Spybot, when you install it by default setting, would not contain any spyware database, thus scanning with spybot without first updating it is as good as not scannning at all. You have to update it when you first install it.
Um from personal experience, I would say uninstall WINFIXER asap and get a reliable spyware detector(I use Lava soft Ad-aware 6). Do a full scan and quarantine and delete any infected objects. After a few days, see if any of these popups show up.
If they do, I suggest going through your installed programs list(go to add and remove programs from the control pannel). Find anything that doesn’t belong or that you haven’t seen before. They might be viral or infected programs that were created when installing WINFIX.
In my opinion(haven’t found probable cause for believing it fully, yet), Anti virus programs such as WINFIX, Spy Quake, Spy Sheriff, Stopsign protection ect. create viruses or spyware just to have something to delete. If there weren’t viruses, there wouldn’t be a reason to get their program.(Makes sense doesn’t it?)
Anyways, I hope this helped.
Winfixer is a piece of spyware that claims to be able to repair any windows problem, however it generally just gives you a lot of pop-up ads and slows your system down. For more info on it go here http://www.spywareguide.com/product_show.php?id=2263
Adaware is a free antispyware tool that can get rid of Winfixer, it is available here http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
Once you have run Adaware your system should be back to operational, there is occasionally a problem removing a spyware product if it is running as a process or multiple processes, in this case you would need to identify and Stop the process in order for it to be removed. I think however from what I have read about winfixer and my own experiences with Adaware that it should be able to remove it for you. If you need further assistance feel free to contact me.
Thats not a virus, that is SpyWare, and you dont really have to restore your PC, if you had to do that everytime you got spyware you will never reach the end of it, you will be refreshing your system every couple of weeks (depending on which sites you visit)….
What you need to do is get rid of it, try using Ad-Aware, or Ewido Scanner (you can download free versions of these), you might also wanna try running some online scans, the best 2 are BitDefender (bitdefender.com) and ActiveScan by Panda Soft (http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan.htm)
Well, your computer maybe infected with a virus or spyware. Fake virus never slow down computers. They are just "fake". Try other anti-virus software and other anti-spyware.If it doesn’t work, try to reformat it to a computer store. I hope that it helps.
Winfixer is a scam that tires to tell you that you have a virus and to download it (spyware). Try more spyware removal software to get rid of it. Heard it’s pretty hard to get rid of but if you search this site for winfixer you will find a lot of information.
In short, yes. I have included one source link below that could assist with removal. If you want more links, just enter WINFIXER into your favourite search engine and you’ll find plenty more.
All the best with it.

you should try system restore.
start>programs>accessories>system restore
It will allow you to get your computer to an early state, without erasing the documents you made in the middle.
Hope that helps.
Good Luck.
Removal will require the special VundoFix removal tool:
