Sorry to hear that you’re pc isn’t performing to the standard that it used to. Before you dive into buying a new pc or hard drive why not consider giving the registry a good clean. Over time the registry can get cluttered up and affect the performance of your pc so you should clean it out and delete all the old files that have been entered into the registry that you no longer use. I downloaded a free registry cleaner which allows you to have a free scan and I increased the speed of my pc by about 20%.
hmm sounds more like a virus or mallware or it could be just cause you dont have enough rams. i h8 when ppl ask questions and dont provide any information about their systems and expect ppl to solve their problems it’s like going to a doctor and not telling him whats wrong just expecting him to know everthing!!
Download Ccleaner by pririform for free, run the cleaner, run the registry cleaner.
Download Defraggeler from pririform for free as well, and defrag your hard drive
The hold the windows key and press R, type in "msconfig" without the quotes, click the startup tab and remove any unneeded items from that list to help your computer startup quicker, here is a list of startup programs that you can uncheck forom the utility

ctrl-alt-del and see if there’s any processes that are eating up your processing power. Use msconfig (look it up). Use an anti virus program like AVG free or malwarebytes.
It could also be that your computer just sucks, but I can’t tell.
http://www.zippcast.com/user/brandon says yeah its called delete stuff and clear recycle bin
Try the CCleaner from Piriform.com. It’s free.
For a start, check your computer for malware with Malwarebytes (free). It sounds like you might have infections. http://www.malwarebytes.org
CCleaner is good, but I think you defragment a bit too often, as excess defragmentation can damage your hard drive. Here is an article that explains how often you should defrag: http://www.auslogics.com/en/articles/defragmentation/
If you are looking for something free, here is a list of 5 free tools to speed up a computer: http://www.suite101.com/content/top-5-free-tools-to-fix-a-slow-running-computer-a316249
But if you don’t mind paying once, it’s better to get a software suite like BoostSpeed. It has a free trial, so you can see how it works before you decide to either purchase it or let the trial expire: http://www.auslogics.com/go/27021001/en/software/boost-speed
