Well you’re going to get two answers here.
Most people will tell you to use the free cleaner "CCleaner" which u can get from http://www.ccleaner.com – but this is BAD because it just tries to find as many problems as possible to make itself look good (why else would it be free)?
You need to be careful with the regsitry because it’s a crucial part of your system. If you screw up one of the important files inside it, you’re going to have BIG problems down the line… so you need to be sure the registry cleaner you use will be as "delicate" as possible with your PC.

ccleaner is good. malwarebytes is another. and free.

Be very, very careful with ANY registry cleaner. Sometimes they will delete a needed key so fast that you’ll never even notice it and mess up your entire system. Personally, I don’t want anything wondering around in my registry. If I have a problem, I’ll delete the keys myself…and it has been considered by many professionals (including myself) that cleaning out your registry is really not all that important and only (if any) a small speed in performance is gained…
But if your going to use one anyways, use one that is tried and true (and very popular)…. it’s called "Crap Cleaner" (ccleaner) and is one of the easiest and most well known applications…
