There’s a cleaner called "CCleaner" which is free, however iI highly doubt that it will find 196 problems. You can try it out by downloading it from Google… but having used this tool before, I’d guess it will find about 20-30 problems.
You really need to use a cleaner which is able to find and fix the most issues in your PC, and those have to be paid for unfortunately. Such cleaners exist on http://www.fastregistryfixes.com/best_registry_cleaner_tools.html
I agree with most of the other people bellow, your best bet is ccleaner.. however it is good to take a backup of what you are cleaning out prior to deleting it, as if you have issues afterwords you will not be able to fix it without the backup…
Also, Cleaning out your registry will make your machine faster, Look at it like plugging in a lamp..
if you cut the cord in certain places and put a less conductive metal in the middle of the gaps, that is like the fragments in your registry, "dim lamp"
If you are running windows XP or 2k and want to amplify your system performance,
Download Disk Keeper 2007, It has to be 2007..
I am uncertain where you can find the trial anymore, but 2007 allowed you to manually increase your MFT file, (Master File Template) This is where windows will store your registry and profile related information, increasing the size of this will make your machine run MUCH smoother..
If you cannot locate 2k7 of Disk Cleaner
NOTE: DO NOT DO THIS IN VISTA OR 7 AS IT WILL BREAK YOUR MACHINE ALSO I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOU EDITING YOUR REGISTRY, TWEAKS HAVE WORKED ON EVERY MACHINE I HAVE DONE THEM TO, HOWEVER I ONLY WARRANTY MY WORK WHEN I DO IT.
You can do this manually through your Registry,
Go to start Run
Type in Regedit
Go to this path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM
\CurrentControlSet\Control
\Filesystem
On the right add this key, exactly as it is written here, spelling and capitols matter:
(if it does not already exist)
Right click choose New DWORD, name it..
NtfsMftZoneReservation
1- Not alot of files, mostly just your OS (Default) – Best option for 40GB or smaller Drives
2- less then 40% of your drive is filled with files (Medium) – Best option for most 80GB or smaller drives.
3- about 60% of your drive is filled with files (Large) – Best option for 120GB or smaller Drives
4- I have tons of MP3’s and Movies (Maximum) – Best option for 120GB or Bigger drives
To set the number Right click on the value and choose modify, then choose Decimal and add the number that best suits your machine from above.
Believe me, if you really had 196 errors in your registry, I seriously doubt your computer would even be operating. This is a scare tactic used by the registry cleaners to get you to buy their product. The two best FREE ones are CCleaner, and Microsoft’s Live OneCare Cleanup Scan. I use both, not at the same time, of course, but one week I clean with CCleaner and the next with OneCare. Both are good, and safe to use.

Registry cleaners don’t really fix anything, never pay for one, they just delete useless entries and basically have no effect on performance. They can however delete needed info and then you will have problems.
YES! Absolutely recommend google-ing "cache cleaner". Use it myself

Registry cleaners usually cause more problems than they fix. If you don’t know what you are doing, you can clobber the operating system. Use with caution.
What problem(s) are you experiencing.
