   I use Registry First Aid. It does a good job of cleaning up after removing apps., links, and such.

   ccleaner
   run the following two menus of ccleaner
   cleaner > Analyze > Run Cleaner
   Issues > Scan For Issues > Fix Selected Issues

   U can use regvac, its quite useful and cleans the registry perfectly. just search google for regvac and download the install file.
