I know it sounds like I’m being cheap but I honestly can’t afford it and get tired of calling Dell support. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have already tried using my faster pc, it cleaned up 20 errors and wants me to upgrade so I can clean up the remaining 189. Doesn’t that just make you wanna toss your computer thru the nearest window.
it is called a full system restoration. what it does is destroys everything on your computer, good and bad and resets your computer to the factory settings that it came with along with programs. Be careful though because you will loose every save file, download, upgrade, anything that wasnt there when you first turned it on will be gone. to do this you just turn your computer off and back on and put your finger on the F11 key and wait for the message to come up and press it. follow the steps, reset your computer and begin reupgrading your programs: windows media, java, flash player, ect.

First of All, This is my first answer. Anyways, The best way is too make a backup of your files on a pen-drive or portable hard drive & then why don’t you format you PC cause that way your PC is 100% fast or you can just uninstall the software’s that you don’t require. I usually make a backup & format my PC.

Best solution to slow computers any techie will tell you.
Reformat your computer.
Problem is when you keep a computer for some time alot of unnecessary files are kept in your computer without you knowing it. This is due to bad coding on the programmers part, sometimes its used to track your habbits.
Anyway alot of these junk files are lodged in your registry which basically is the brain of the computer. An everytime your computer runs the registry has alot of unncessary files clogging it up and making it slow. Sure there are alot of registry cleaners, but they won’t fix everything.
An registry is only a small part of it.
Your hard drive also becomes fragmented, take for example reading a book. I don’t know if you ever read goose bumps adventure books where you have to turn to a specific page based on the choice you make. But you can understand how the discontinuity really slows your reading. The same thing happens when you install and uninstall programs.
Your computer stores files in random places where ever free space is possible. Instead of one continous segment which is the condition in a fresh computer.
Anyway long story short, backup all your important files and reformat your computer using your XP installation disk. Simple solution to get a fast computer again.
Can you explain a bit better? what is ‘cleaning up’ for you, and what parts are currently not in working order?
Some suggestions:
1. Reformatting and reinstalling everything generally gives you a performance boost
2. Use a defragmenter periodically (try jkdefrag)
3. Periodically install, run and uninstall anti-malware (antivirus – try AVG, anti-adware – try Ad-aware)
4. Consider switching to XP from windows Vista
5. Consider switching to ubuntu or a similar *nix based operating system which you can configure better to your hardware limitations, if it still meets your requirements. (try ubuntu.org)
6. Install more memory (this is a cheap fix!)
7. Free up lots of space on your hard drive
sounds liek you own a bit of junk. no offence, but i never hered of a list of 180 errors before.
you need to backup everything you want to keep, delete everything, format the hard drive, re install your operating system, re install any files you backed up, then defragment the hard drive.
Why don’t you just format your computer, a good fresh copy of windows (if you have that ) on your hard drive will do wonders.
use ur disk cleanup and defragmenter in the system tools and then scan your computer with ur anti virus
at least that will help it run a little faster and get rid of junk files
Using a registry cleaner can clean up your computer and then make your computer faster,Why?the reason is that there may be some registry errors and remnant, corrupt files and temp files in your computer to cause "computer slow".
Every time you install and uninstall software on your computer and surfing online you create junk in the computer registry.over time, the registry can grow to enormous proportions, especially if the various programs you’ve installed do not do a good job of deleting and/or updating it’s Registry entries. You need to scan and clean your computer with registry cleaner to make it fast.Good Registry Cleaner will improve your computer and Internet performance dramatically!
There are some comparison and review of TOP 5 registry cleaners.
