it works i dont know why no one knows about this several tools to fix windows in the SCF package read this first
You can try running a System Restore, if you can get to the main Windows screen.
Here is the way to find that tool:
Start Menu > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore
System Restore may allow you to "go back" to a previous time before you were hit by your virus.
Good luck!
This may not be a good idea actually. You really want the registry reflect the true system configuration not to forcing a different one over it.
Better way is to have patience and rebuild the XP from the beginning. No short cuts can save your time. Usually, you will do it over and over again. Time wasted is a way of life for people fool with PCs….
Unless you have a boot CD with a good copy of the registry you can restore from, you are SOL.
drop in your reboot disc…
thats it or rewrite your self…
Or buy a mac.
No. a corrupt system restore cannot be recovered. This is because it is a record of the registry at the time it was created. trying to repair it through system restore won’t work- windows will try to restore itself through a corrupt record. Using the installation disc for repairs only repairs the current system, not the saved restore points.
The best thing you can do is turn off system restore, reboot and turn it back on again to create a fresh restore point.
Sorry, Bob B. System File Check (SFC) will not repair corrupt restore points. It checks that system files are in their original format and if not replaces them from the dll cache, the windows disc or a service pack.
The only way to resolve corrupt restore points is to delete them by switching off system restore.
SFC /scannow will turn system restore on if it is disabled, as this is the default setting.
