Hi,
A system slows down due to a variety of reasons, viz. file fragmentation, registry data fragmentation, a large number of installed programs, disk allocation by unnecessarily stored files, a number of items to load at the system startup, and so on.
What you need to do is increase the system performance by doing system optimization tasks listed below. Some of them can be easily done using a software called RegInOut available for download here: http://download.cnet.com/RegInOut/3000-2094_4-10965219.html?part=dl-10053761&subj=dl&tag=button
Doing all these system optimization tasks is recommended for at least once a week. This will help making your computer and internet experience faster.

1. Defragment the disks
2. Defragment the system registry [Using RegInOut]
3. Fix the errors in the system registry [Using RegInOut]

5. Delete unnecessary files and stuff
6. Uninstall the programs that you never use
7. Install additional Memory (RAM)

9. Change settings for "Best Performance"; rather than "Best Appearance"
The step by step information to perform the above tasks is available on my blog here:

5. Click "Close" and restart the browser.
(2) Clearing Browser Stuff:
1. Download RegInOut.
2. Install it on your computer; and then run it.

The Windows Registry is the master control center for your operating system and applications it runs. Corruption or overload registry issues can cause all sorts of pc performance problems, including poor application startup times, slow Windows start-up, extremely slow shut down, slow internet surfing, inability to resume from computer sleep and more.Cleaning, compacting, and optimizing your Windows registry can go a long way to dramatically speeding up your computer’s performance, start-up and shutdown speed.
Recommended: Run a Registry Scan http://best-way-to-improve-pc-performance.com Now to Detect Errors and Improve your PC’s speed instantly!
only by running file cleaners, anti-virus program etc,,,you cant speed up ur pc.
it depends on RAM,graphics drivers, processors…
its not because of virus ur pc’s gets slow.. the more softwares, bulky games u install, the slower the pc gets(only if ur RAM is limited, lets say 512mb/1gb)
Most important, remove all those extra softwares u installed to fasten ur pc’s performance.nothing will work.
just a fine,good, anti-virus program is recommended…
and about formatting regularly, is not recommended…
anyway windows 7 is faster…
reinstalling will faten your pc’s performence as it will very little data to process , running many programs concurently will reduce the performance so dont install things that you dont require.
I used to format my PC alot but i stopped . now i dont put junks in my computer.
From Msconfig , remove your unneded startup items as your computer will take time open all your programs, each time you install a program they will go into your start up and they will be running at the back. Dontt run many programs at the same time. Next to your watch you will see lot of programs up and running for you use so remove them as they will be in the memory all the time
im a computer information systems major , and i always format and install a fresh copy of windows every 5-6 months whenever i start to notice its getting slow , but i would not suggest to do a full recovery , meaning it will load all kinds of bullcrip programs which will make ur pc slow but just do a basic new install of windows , and format your drive , here is what i do
I make 2 partitions one C: for all my basics , and another D: for all my video/audio and whatever else files i dont want to delete, so every 5-6 months once my pc gets slow i can just reformat C: and install the basics again but all my data that i need is still on D: !
thats my personal suggestion , and also if your using CCleaner another method would be go to turn off any programs that are starting up with windows , all most all programs these days installs some kinda of each crip that is not needed that boots up with ur computer each one of these start ups add another 3-5seconds even though u maybe will not see it in ur taskbar as booting with your computer but it does !!
best of luck too you hope this helps !
You are doing something to make your system slower. Usually it’s visiting dubious web sites and downloading iffy "helper" programs, We have several single task PCs that go online only to receive plain email, and they do not slow down with use.
So stop what you shouldn’t be doing! If you are like most people and don’t know what that is or choose to do it anyway, reinstall periodically as you are now.
