Total Scam – Tried to scan my work PC and install who knows what. Cancelled it.
Advice here is good. I also recommend AVG Free and AVG Rootkit to check your PC. Like SpyDoctor too.
Sounds like a scam, trying to get you to use their software. I just googled that onlinemon.info & got http://share.skype.com/sites/security/2007/11/malware_alert.html
I love scammers that try to get you to think you just got hit, and they somehow knew you were infected, w/o even being installed on your PC. Right-E-O!
I’d just run my own antivirus and antiSpyware scans to be safe.
dont download it lol…
its a trojan or some thin that made that pop up and when u download it thats the real virus
total virus .. my site advisor lit up big time … also my anti virus came to life big time … by cliking on this link if u dont know any better u will end up with this on your comp… remove this link or your going to mess up a lot of comps…
Secure Center does not detect malicious softwares. It only show s you the status of your system’s security. The purpose of the message’s creator is to make you install a repair tool from their website, which I believe is a very common behavior of dangerous intrusion attempts. First of all, I suggest you to not follow the instruction. Next, download a security software on your own as the message itself could already be a potential malware, not to mention that the message could ever be real. Below are some of the best free apps according to my sources and experience:
1. Kaspersky commercial products and Kaspersky Free Online Scanner: they’ve got the industry leading virus detection engine. I recommend it because of its ease-of-use, effectiveness, functionality and reputation.
2. Avira AV Personal: this AV engine is free but it offers active system guard, very efficient scans and auto-update at no cost.
3. Spyware Terminator from Crawler: the anti-spyware offers live HIPs protection plus reliable fast scans to secure your system against spywares and adwares for completely free.
4. Spyware Doctor (Starter Edition comes free with Google pack) from PCTool: got high ratings from recent tests on PCWorld and Cnet.
