   are you using up a lot of your memory ?
   maybe it’s old
   did you delete all your temp files ?
   have you emptied your recycling bin ?
   i don’t think it’s the graphics card
   that is very rare ; sorry
   or you might have an embedded virus .

   It depends on what kind of games you are playing. If you are playing a rather high-end games like Crysis , L4D , Fallout 3 or whatever , your laptop CANNOT take it.

   Firstly , your RAM is kinda low. 2 GB should be the least you should have for current games.

   Secondly, i assume that your laptop is kinda old , since you mentioned that you "upgraded the ram from 512mb to 1gb". Recent laptops will have AT LEAST 2GB RAM on it.

   Thirdly, since your laptop is old i suppose , the graphic card for it cannot handle any high-end games.

   Using laptop to play games is not very ideal if the laptop is not a gamer laptop, since normal laptop’s graphic card is always not suitable for gaming.

   Registry problems cause pc slow down.
   Registry Cleaner can fix your pc errors.
   Clean windows registry can speed up the computer.
   Over time, you install new programs, uninstalled unimportant programs, update software’s, install new devices,
   download files from the web, etcetera, hence embarking all records in the registry system.
   This is normal, but it is not wise to leave it untouched.
   Once in a while, you have to check and remove files that are no longer in use to maintain the speed of your PC.
   Clean registry make pc faster.
