You will probably have to use the "emergency" disk that your anti-virus program made when it was installed.
Don’t try to reformat, use the ant-ivirus program.
Do you know where the virus is located? Wellif you do and can’t delete it then i know a program that can help you. Its called unlocker and it can be found at http://www.download.com/Unlocker/3000-2248_4-10493998.html. After its installed, find the virus, right click it, and delete it with unlocker.
You can NEVER format a running system, it is blocked. Why not fix the problem? Pointless destroying all your data just to remove the virus, a bit like shooting yourself in the head to get rid of a flea. Ru proper spyware scan. If you still insist on clearing the drive, you need to boot from the OS cd and select install, then at the screen showing the partition, delete it and create a new one.
its probualy a trojan or hijacker…try your antivirus of get a prfesonal to take out and erase it
P.S. you might want to save your privet stuff on memory stick and delete of your computer because the source of the virus can see them.
if you have the xp dvd or vista dvd put it in the drive and restart u might need to go into the bios and set the boot disk to the dvd drive and it shoud reformat it you need to backup everything on the pc and when done scan the files you backed up of corse if you have a mac then u dont have a virus
