   If your virus/spyware free, there are a couple things you can do get your computer working faster. If you using your computer for normal stuff and not gaming. You don’t always need more RAM you just need to perform a few maintenance task.

   First, if you haven’t cleaned your registry in a while. This is necessary. Your registry holds all the information regarding updates, installs, un-installs etc. Each one of those events produces a key. That key needs your PC’s resources and free space. So, if you clean your registry, you make more resources available for speed. Do a registry scan if you got more than 20 errors you should clean it.

   2. Clear your Windows cache files, this is your temporary file. It can grow up to a large volume and stop your computer from using RAM properly. In a sense slow it down by preventing it from using free space.Here is how:

   1. Quit Internet Explorer, Firefox, or any other web browser
   2. Click Start, click "Control Panel", and then double-click "Internet Options".
   3. On the General tab, click "Delete Files" under Temporary Internet Files.
   4. In the Delete Files dialog box, click to select the "Delete all offline content" check box , and then click OK.
   5. Click OK.

   3. Manage your startups. Your excess CPU usage is due to too many programs running in the background. You can cut these to barebones by alter your msconfig. Here is how:

   1. Open your Start menu.
   2. Click Run
   3. In the command screen type "msconfig.exe"
   4. In the "system configuration utility",click either "service" or "startup" tab
   5. Uncheck all programs that your are no longer using.
   6. Click "OK"

   Other great tip is increasing your virtual memory to simulate more RAM. This will give you a bit more resources for multiple program use or CPU heavy programs.

   store whatever files u need no ur pc. then do a factory restore and ur pc is just like new. now then install some anti spyware, virus on it.
   sometimes those anti-virus remove infected file and ur pc wont function properly/

   Do you have a spyware detection program on your computer? If not, get one. There are plenty of free ones out there. I use Ad-Aware. You can get a free version of that. Do you have a virus scan software? If not, get one of those too. I use AVG. you can get a free version of that as well. I also recommend a Firewall (NOT the one that XP has, it’s not really that good)
   I also use Zonealarm for a firewall. Again, there is a free version.

   The popups are telling me you have spyware on your computer. Get the Adaware and run it. First thing to do though is this
   Go to "START" then PROGRAMS, then ACCESSORIES then SYSTEM TOOLS, find DISK CLEANUP. Run that and once it comes up showing what is on there that can be deleted, let it. Then after that, run the Adaware and let that find all the spyware you have. Once it’s done, checkmark all the spyware and click to get rid of it all. Restart your computer and see how it’s doing after that.

   Once you have the computer running better, get the Google Toolbar, it has a fantastic anti-popup feature. I’ve not had any real issue since.

   Run a full system scan. At the end of the scan, it will give you detailed information as to what to do and how to do it. After you have done all the the suggestions. Reboot your computer and it will be MUCH faster.

   A couple of things could do this…

   1) You have a virus… just goto http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm
   2) You installed too much on it… delete some programs
   3) It’s old and dying… get a new computer
