I’ve been able to resolve most of the problems, but a couple things are still giving me trouble. For example, when I click links on a Google search page, I get redirected to some bullshit advertising webpages. Also, I am unable to connect to liveupdate for Norton antivirus, though I’m unsure if this is related to the spyware infection. Below is an Hijack-This log of my computer. Any suggestions?

Go to http://www.spywareremover-download.com
Download Spywareremover for free.
Not only does spywareRemover get rid of the malicious spyware & adware that have invaded your system, it also prevents infestations from reoccurring. SPYwareRemover will keep your computer’s performance at its best and it will protect your privacy and your identity.
To remove spyware, there are many solutions exist, all of them with their own strengths and weaknesses.
You had better install at least 2 antispyware
Top 5 anti-spywares reviews, comparisons and download links on

You can download and scan your computer for free.
If you know Hijack This and have AVG then you likely know the Castlecops website, and that is the best place to get this kind of help.
Spybot has already been recommended, I would add that Housecall from Trendmicro is a good free scan that actually removes the problems it finds, instead of just demanding money.
I would uninstall Norton and try Kaspersky Antivirus instead. Gice your computer a scan with that (there is a free 25 day trial on their site). If you don’t get on with it you could install Norton again. If you don’t want a different antivirus then try uninstalling and reinstalling Norton.
Install and run Spybot S+D
I can see you have adaware installed so try running that.
Also instead of using Internet Explorer try using firefox as it is more secure.
If you are still getting problems after that your best bet would probably be backing up everything and giving your computer a format.
not a fan of spybot i prefer to use ad-aware or antiver do a payed one 🙂

This looks very suspicious. I’d kill it. Windows Defender might help. Ad Aware is absolute feces and reeks of fail ever since their 2007 version came out.
Or this:
http://majorgeeks.com/Browser_Hijack_Recover_d4349.html
Spybot Search and Destroy and Ad-Aware (Free). Also try a better net security program such as ZoneAlarm.
YOU and YOUR Computer needs help!!!
run BoostSpeed first then uninstall all of you AV and get a good one. OK
it is called browser hijacking. Download / install / Update and run Spybot s&d, that should be able to solve the problem
Aside from using all the free programs listed, I suggest a vist to the Malware Forum listed at the end:
