jUST GET ANOTHER COMPUTER!!
Sometimes, that can be normal depending on how much stuff the computer has to clean up and defrag afterward.
Unless the machine froze, you should be able to stop the process. Perhaps that process crashed. Reboot your system and continue as before.
If you’re running Windows XP – I suggest using NTFS rather than FAT 32 partition. If you’re confused, someone else has probably asked your question in this forum.
Try restarting your computer in safe mode. Turn off Norton’s or anything else like that because it can interrupt the process. Then try running disk cleanup again.
