Your burner could be bad. Even if the computer is new, any electronic can come off the line defective.
Have you tried flashing the firmware? This sometimes might help. Be careful though, firmware flashing is not something for beginners. If it goes wrong, you’re basically screwed and you will have to buy a new drive… No manufacturer will accept a returned item which is broken due to flashing. Just check on the internet for the make of your drive and see if there is any new firmware and d/l the latest. Follow the steps given and there you go. The flashing usually takes only 10 to 20 seconds and you really shouldn’t do anything else while it is flashing. Good luck!
