   What have you been using on your laptop! Anyway, 4gb of ram? Try going to 2GB and try that.
   Edit: The game might be messing up too, not your computer

   It’s the patch. If it ran fine before installing the patch and since the patch was installed it is now running slow, it’s the patch.

   I would back up what you need and restore factory settings, or format and reinstall.

   try lowering your video settings in the game. also try going to the ati control panel and double check your settings.

   If your computer was working fine before you installed the patch, then the problem should be associated with the patch. Check their web site for FAQ’s or a Blog. Looks like you have done all you can.
