Your memory is much ? What is your system ? What running slow ?
Division: your physical memory is 128 – 512 between the time, I suggest you build the virtual memory to 256 or 512, your physical memory is more than 512, there was no need for the division, if you must use, not 256 can, and you say, I suggest you not to the virtual memory built-in C, are located in the EF line! So you can see that by the start-up speed fast!
Finally, there is a way, that is, "WINDOWS self-management", as long as you do not run as large-scale software, it will not appear in your question again!

For running slow there are many causes:

Most computer users have been trained that if you want more speed for your computer, then add more memory. Well, this is true, in certain circumstances. But for most of the times, it really is just bad files in your registry files. Corrupted or missing registry files can make your computer too slow.
The registry is a main part of your computer’s Operating System. With time, as you use Windows and install and uninstall programs, your registry will get congested and full of errors. So your computer could slow down. So, if you can clean it up this problem can be solved.Sometimes you can speed computer up by 300%. To clean up registry,You can download a software called regsitry cleaner—Clean registry, remnant, corrupt files and temp files,history,cookies,etc.. This site:

lists top 5 registry cleaner, you can download and scan for free.
Good luck!
Well if you have norton Anti Virus i would Delete that and download Avast its not as big and i think that it is better. Because Norton is to big.
Your hard drive is getting full so it will slow down your computer, if can delete some things from your hard drive that you do not eed and uninstall programs you are not using this will help. If you would rather burn things onto a data disk so that you have them but not on your computer that would work also. It is recommended that you have at least 10 to 20 percent of your hard free to keep it running well and so that it is easier to defrag and programs run without a problem. Depending on how much ram you have in your computer could most certainly be affecting it, since you are running windows XP it is recommended you have at least 256mb’s of ram. Virtual memory is different from ram and you can reset your virtual memory to allow more. The general rule for setting your virtual memory is the initial size is 1.5 times the amount of Ram you have (example 256megs of ram 1.5 x 256 =364 ) and for the maximum allow it is 2 x the amount of Ram. To find out how much Ram you have go to Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance> System
The first tab is the general tab and if you read on that page it will tell you how much ram you have in your computer. To set you virtual memory go to Control Panel > Performance and Maintenace > System> Advanced Tab
Under the advanced tab the first section you see is performance click setting under performance, when the new window opens the first thing you see is Visual Effects make sure that Let windows manage is checked there, next to visual effects is Advancd tab, click on it, go down to virtual memory and click change, then click custom and put in the amount you got from mulitplying your ram times 1.5 for the intial size and the amount ou got from mulitplyling your ram times 2 in the maximum allowed then click set.
Sorry to said this but you need a new computer
Way? R: you hard drive is too small you CPU is too small, you RAM is too small. You need a hard drive minimum 40GB and a CPU 1.8 MHz
originally you PC was for Windows 98 or Windows ME.
Windows XP need more power to be functional.
you need a lease 512 MB of RAM and probably you system accept only till 128 or 256. if you wanted speed you machine is not the right tool. More Memory? your BUS drive had no capabilities to be upgrade to 512 MB.
Good Luck
I think you should just upgrade your computer 🙂
Or you can, do a
De frag
Reformat
Uninstall programs you don’t use
Also, you can adjust the visual effects for better performance
Go to my computer > Properties > Performance
> And click adjust visual effects > Then click the "Adjust for best performance" button
Also you should download a program called CCleaner:
Which deletes temporary internet files, cookies, history and cache and other stuff.
Download it from – http://www.ccleaner.com/
this has happened to me before too. i googled low virtual memory and found some help. if i remember correctly the directions told me to use the control+alt+delete function and look at the task manager. then in the processes tab click on the VM Size column and at the bottom it will show the programs that are taking up all of your memory. you will either need to turn them off or remove them completely if they are not that important. hope that helps!
That happened to me too. Turned out it was the dsl modem. Go figure. Go to your task manager & click on performance & see if you are using an unusual amount of cpu usage. It should be around 3%. If it’s higher than that, turn off your modem & check again. If it drops, it’s your modem. Good luck!
Take It To A Shop.
They Will Fix it.
Reformat, if you dont want to do that. There are a few options.
Perform a Disk Cleanup using Windows or other software.
Disk Defragment
Free up Hard Drive space
Get More RAM (usually the case)
Clean Your Registry (Registry Cleaner)
To check how much RAM you have, click START, select RUN and type in dxdiag, on the first page it should tell you how much RAM you have, the quanity is displayed in MB’s. Computers these days need at least 1028MB of RAM, anything under is going to be slow!
maybe you somehow got a Trojan virus that the scan can’t detect. my best advice is to turn it in to have every system cleaned, i will not lie to you, it will be kinda expensive. but that is the best i can come up with. cleaning the computer will take out all the things you have downloaded in the past.
defrag defrag defrag…
windows comes with a defrag program in it, called like the disk optimizer or something. I think you’ll find it in applications.
your computer may just be slow. It happens we had a computer it was really good and we never went on the internet on it because we were afraid of viruses and we didn’t have much software on it but microsoft office. Over time it as had a dramatic speed problem. I would either take it to the "computer doctor" or just buy a new one
best of luck

you should try to recover your computer… at the beginng when you restart it, press f11… it takes you to the recovery program. it should recover it, and act like you just bought it. but before you do that, just in case, you might want to back up your data!
yea its ram 😮
If your Internet is slow I would not use dial-up, use broadband or wifi instead considering there the best performance ! The internet also stores data files of every image, video, file, and website you view so I would delete your cache files and temporarily files as well ! If your computer is slow I would un-install any extra software you don’t need like : Games (with high memory usage), Pictures (pictures you don’t need in .png format) and Videos (that you don’t need in high memory usage formats) If it has no effect on your computer I would scan for any spyware, virus’s or Trojans !
Have you tried a system restore? Maybe you downloaded something recently that’s causing it to run slow…
take it out everyday for a walk then gradually into a jog and then progress into a run. This will speed it up greatly
download ccleaner. it cleans every junk un-needed
Follow this guide:
http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=106650
That guide helped me get my computer to run Crysis, and it’s a four year old computer!
Go to Add/Delete programs and delete everything you don’t use?
It probably is your ram
get dsl
delete useless programs
run a clean up
delete your porn videos, they take up a lot of space
This day in age? Your running a 900mhz celeron?? really? I think you’ve got more problems than your 256mb RAM… slow is a relative term and I think the fact that you are living in 2008, you just need an upgrade.
