I have windows XP, SP3. Need to know what would be the absolute best registry booster/cleaner. Had uniblue but didn’t know if it was the best so I uninstalled it. I’ve seen so many ads for registry cleaners that I’m no longer sure which is best, or if, in fact, I really need one. Thanks.

Honestly, most of the so-called "registry cleaners" are little more than gateways for malware to get into your system. Many of them don’t do anything but take up space. Take a look at the link below – I’d suggest stearing clear until you dig into this deeper. I have to agree that most "registry cleaners/boosters" are mostly snake-oil junk.
One product many folks stand behind is CCleaner, which is also mentioned in the linked article. Otherwise, you’re better served making sure your antivirus is up to date with regularly scheduled scans; run disk cleanup (but probably best to not compress unless you really need to); clear out offline files and cookies in IE; run defrag a couple times a month; and run Ad-aware and Spybot Search & Destroy once a week.
