   Is it slow because you think it is contaminated with trojans or a virus? Is he running an spy/virus ware? As in Norton or McAfee? You might want to try some freebies such as malwarebytes.org. or spybot. be careful as when you do the free downloads that you don’t click on the wrong button and end up with the download that you have to pay for. If you can’t get on the internet, you can download them to a CD and then run them in your dad’s computer. I was able to clean up my brother’s and a neighbors using these free programs. Personally, I run McAfee all the time and have never had a contamination problem. I prefer McAfee over Norton, but this is just a personal preference. Good luck!

   You really should take your computer to a repair shop and let a professional handle it. I cannot be blamed if you mess up your computer because you don’t know what your doing.
   It’s really hard to help you unless you give us the details on your computer.

   But if you are running windows, try going into your control panel and deleting unused or unnecessary programs. I’ll leave which ones to delete up to you.

   also open the My Computer icon and right click on C:/ and click Properties and then Disk Cleanup. This will run the disk clean up wizard and delete temp files and other junk.

   You may also need more memory.

   Depending on how old the computer is, a new computer may be the more cost effective choice.

   Your best bet though is to take it to a reputable computer repair shop and let them clean it out. You may be doing more harm than good.

   When a PC is slow – that means that the available memory is being heavily taxed out. Suggestion: look up what type of RAM your motherboard uses, make sure you have an empty slot, and go out and get a 512MB or 1GB RAM card!

   (RAM is cheap, and easy to install.)

   star menu /accessories /system tools disk clean up. after that go to the control panel /add and remove programs fine any programs that have not been used in 30 days get rid of them then go back to system tools and run disk defragmentor .
