I ran a registry cleaner yesterday thinking it might speed up my pc a bit, now after restarting my pc i have no start (task bar) and can not get on the internet. The task bar is not hidden, its just not there.
I get an error when i load windows saying "the specific module cannot be found" relating to a file i have never haerd of in windows\system32 – i think it was bkxalmll.dll I am on windows XP
Any help would be really appreciated

Sounds like the cleaner took out more than it should have.
Press the Windows key to bring up your Start menu, under Accessories, go into System Tools, and find System Restore.
It will hopefully bring up a calendar with "Restore Points" on it. A "Restore Point" is simply a copy of the registry and other critical system files that Windows needs. Since it was a "registry cleaner" that caused the problem, restoring the registry back to the last saved version before the cleaner was run should resolve the problem.
You will not lose any data by doing this. If you installed any new programs between the time of the restore point and now, you might have to reinstall that program. But that is a minor issue if this resolves the problem.
In the future, before running something like a registry cleaner, you should always create a restore point so that if it goes wrong, you can return the computer to where it was before you did the clean up.
Did you back up your registry before making the changes?
Are you sure it’s a legitimate program?
Registry actually does not need to be cleaned. Defrag helps more than a registry cleaner
Ok, this sound like either a poorly written, or malices piece of software that has go onto you system. What it has most likely do has messed with the Windows shell. the Windows shell is a registry item the has your GUI on it, and the registry cleaner has probably deleted parts of it, and now when you pc load it’s missing the start bar. I would say reformat it. Hope that helps
Who makes this registry cleaner?
sounds like a virus or spyware problem.
antivirus scan and Reinstall windows
Which registry cleaner? Most of them a re very dangerous. The only reliable one is ccleaner.exe. Even then you should always allow it to save the registry backup before allowing changes. And you should always use a good anti-spyware scan before running registry cleaners. You may now need to run a complete spyware scan, then run a repair reinstall from your OS cd.
