   I tried several of them Mcafee, AVG, Norton and a few others. I bought Wincleaner and have the best results by far. It lets you fix your registry, get rid of junk (that it finds for you), lets you pick what your start-up will run and even tells you whether it’s neccessary to have a program running, lets you uninstall programs better than the windows uninstaller. Deletes your old history and and cookies, allows you to defrag your harddrive or just a file or folder. It lets you maximize your ram as well as streamlining your registry.

   It updates itself automatically but this is an optional feature that you can choose to run. All in all I think it is an excellent program.It has a lot of other features as well but those are the main points.

   NOD32 or Avira are both very good antivirus programs – whether they can clean the infection(s) or not depends on the infection! Some are more difficult to remove than others and require a specialised removal tool or manual removal. You could also try booting your PC into safe mode and doing a scan.

   If you have had many viruses, then my suggestion would be to do a reformat — you can never be sure if every infected file and registry key is removed.
